## How Pay As You Go billing works

Pay As You Go (PAYG) uses a prepaid calling-credit balance. You're charged 30p per minute of answered calls, drawn down from your balance - there's no monthly fee.

Getting started

When you switch to PAYG you add a card and buy your first £20 of credit (plus VAT). That also authorises your card for future top-ups, so things stay seamless.

> The 14-day free trial is the way to try RingDesk for free - PAYG is the paid, usage-based plan, so it starts with a credit purchase rather than free minutes.

Automatic top-ups

With automatic top-up on (the default), whenever your balance drops below £5 we add another £20 of credit (plus VAT) to your card. This means your agent keeps answering without interruption.

You can turn auto top-up off from Account → Calling credit. With it off, your agent pauses when the balance runs out and resumes as soon as you top up.

What happens if the balance runs out

  • Calls already in progress are never cut off - they always finish.
  • New calls are politely told the service is temporarily unavailable until you're back in credit.

Receipts and VAT

Every top-up is a proper VAT invoice - you'll get a receipt by email and can view all of them in your account. Prices are shown excluding VAT; VAT is added on top.

Seeing your balance and history

Go to Account → Calling credit to see your current balance, recent top-ups and call usage, and to toggle automatic top-up.
