## Recording calls
RingDesk can record calls so you can listen back for training and quality. Recording is a free feature - it's off until you switch it on per desk.
Turning it on
- Open the desk and go to Setup.
- Switch on Call recording.
- Add a short recording notice to your greeting (for example "...your call may be recorded"). RingDesk checks this is present - telling callers is a legal requirement, alongside the AI disclosure.
Playback and download
Recorded calls appear in Conversations. Open a call and use the player to play or download the recording. Any voicemail the caller left is stored the same way.
How long recordings are kept
Recordings are kept for 90 days by default and then automatically deleted. If you need to keep them longer for a compliance reason, ask support.
Privacy
Recordings are part of your account data - they're included in data exports and deletion requests. See "Exporting and erasing data (GDPR)".
